Balancing Parenting & Ministry

Pastor Shiree McGee

Join Pastor Shiree McGee as she explores juggling the sometimes overwhelming demands of ministry while raising young children. Many ministry leaders struggle to find a healthy balance between serving their congregation and nurturing their families. This class offers practical strategies for creating boundaries, ensuring your children feel valued, and prioritizing both your ministry and family in ways that honor God and build strong connections. Learn how to overcome the unique challenges of parenting while leading in ministry and create a family culture that thrives alongside your spiritual calling.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to prioritize family without compromising your calling to ministry.
  • Strategies for spending quality time with your children and strengthening your bond.
  • Ways to help your children feel more connected to the church and your ministry work.
  • The importance of setting healthy boundaries with your congregation to protect family time.
  • How to manage church scrutiny and prevent it from negatively affecting your children.

Why It Matters

Studies show that many pastors' children feel disconnected from church life, with PKs (pastor’s kids) often reporting that they struggle to maintain interest in church because they:

  • Don’t feel they get enough quality time with their parents.
  • Believe the church is more important than them.
  • Face excessive scrutiny from the congregation.

Research suggests that a large percentage of children of ministry leaders lose interest in church by their teenage years, often due to these factors. This class will equip you with tools to prevent these issues, ensuring your children grow up feeling loved, prioritized, and spiritually connected.

Who Should Attend

This class is designed for ministry leaders, pastors, and church staff who have children up to age 13 and are seeking practical ways to balance their responsibilities at home and in the church. If you want to foster a stronger relationship with your children while faithfully serving your congregation, this class is for you.
